Family Fun Day

As our due date approaches we have been trying to get out and have some fun before our sweet baby girl is born and we are likely to stay home much more in the short term. So we headed out for some yummy frozen yogurt!
Little boy hands make me smile. So squishy and perfect.
Later that day we headed to Babe's for a yummy chicken dinner - a favorite restaurant of mine when I was in high school.
Eric's boss told him about a super cute candy store in the town square that we should check out. As we were nearing the candy store we found an outdoor movie playing next door! The perfect summer combo.

So the littles got a small bag of candy and popcorn and we sat on a bench watching a children's movie. A super fun summer's night. :)

Classical Conversations Practicum

Each day was from 9a-4p with an hour lunch break. Jenni brought some notebooks and coloring books to keep her busy. She did a lot of skip counting, math problems, drawings, and stories.
Top - A momma bird sitting on her eggs
Bottom - The chicks hatched and the mom off searching for food :)

I thought Jenni was drawing our about-to-be family of six but when I looked closely it was just Eric with the four littles. The drawing said, "I love my daddy. He is the best daddy!" :)

The littles and I went to a 3-day Classical Conversations Practicum to prepare for the fall. I was able to register the boys for day camps, but Jenni's camp was full so she joined me for the three days and thoroughly enjoyed her time with the adults. We are beyond THRILLED to have found a CC community to join for the next school year. I think it'll be just what we need -  especially after having a new baby.

The mission of Classical Conversations is to know God and to make Him known. It combines the classical education method of learning with a biblical worldview. Both Jenni and Joshua will be in Foundations classes. We will meet with our CC community once a week for twelve weeks in the fall and twelve weeks in the winter/spring months. Each week new memory work is introduced and there is a review of old memory work. The memory work is divided into 6 subjects: timeline/history, geography, math, science, Latin, and English grammar. They will also participate in a fine arts project/lesson, a science project, and an opportunity to practice oral presentation skills each week.

Riding a Bike

The sweetest J asked to take her training wheels off earlier this week. I told her once Eric returned from his trip she could give it a try. It literally only took her minutes to learn and she has become a pro. A sweet bonding moment for her and E. So so so cute.

Sister Plans

I really enjoyed this one because of her details - the bows in their hair, the bells on their bicycles, etc.

We buy our paper in bulk from Costco, mainly because a certain little girl in our family spends her days drawing and drawing some more. Right now Jenni wants to be an artist with her work displayed in museums. :) Jenni draws pictures daily of either her and her baby sister, or her and the whole family. It's quite sweet. And I keep all of them. :)

Bahama Bucks

Cutie Pie #3 enjoying a picnic lunch while waiting for Grandpa and Grandma to arrive!

I've heard lots of people talking about the shaved ice at Bahama Bucks so we decided to try it out when Grandpa and Grandma stopped through our town. It was delicious! The littles enjoyed their rainbow shaved ice on the patio while playing some outdoor games. :)

Building a Vegetable Garden

We decided to transplant our potted fruits and vegetables into a raised vegetable bed that Eric built for us. The last six weeks of first grade science Jenni is learning about plants so I thought our garden would be a great addition to our homeschooling adventures. We planted blackberries, strawberries, watermelon, tomatoes, several different peppers, squash, zucchini, cucumber, cilantro, and onions.

Springtime Fun

Watching this little guy climb into chairs is super cute.
We are enjoying this beautiful weather!!
When Jenni and Joshua are on the trampoline, Jackson usually stays in the playhouse. And he will open and close the shutters to peek out at them.
