Building a Playhouse

While shopping at Costco the littles and I bought the Georgian Manor Cedar Playhouse kit. Walking out of the store I told the kids, "This will be a fun afternoon project." They fully agreed. We arrived home and had to unload the giant box from our van. Being super pregnant, there was no way I could manage to get it out of the car. So we opened up the box and took the pieces in one by one. :)
After reading through the instruction manual it suggested to sort all the pieces into their correct steps. So with the help of Jenni and Joshua we sorted and numbered the pieces.
After working for twenty hours on the playhouse, I texted my sister this picture with the message "HAHA". One adult with two little helpers takes a little bit longer than two adults. But that's okay because we have the time and are having tons of fun along the way. Joshua helps carry the wood from inside the house to the backyard for each step. He also enjoys drilling the pieces together, reminding me to take it slow so we don't split the wood. :) Jenni is a super big helper holding the instruction manual and the correct packet of screws for each step. She is also the helper when we need more than one set of hands. Fun times.
 Progress so far!
I thought it would be super cute to add a welcome mat. The littles agreed! And they decided together to name their playhouse "The Friendship Clubhouse - where all friends are welcome!" :)

We are now twenty two hours into the project. I'm not sure if the instructions saying 6-10 hours were misleading or if I am just a bit slower than most putting together a playhouse. Either way, slow and steady progress is still progress. :)

A Trip to Grandpa & Grandma's

 Our little lovebug
Jenni will be seven this year. I have started telling her again that I want to squish her back to baby size so we can have more time with her. What a joy she is.

 Such a fantastic big brother!

Joshua enjoyed an apple juice and cake pop at the park. :)

After our park adventure with Grandpa and Grandma we went to buy baby sister some new bows!! and then went to the snow cone stand! :)
More artwork to be saved for baby sister :)

Continuing our tradition driving home from Grandpa and Grandma's we stop by our favorite pizza place and show the kids our college campus and our old home. The littles don't remember much except for the football stadium. And Jenni always asks to drive by Eric's old office building at school.

The Day!

While Eric, Jackson and I went to Eric's grandfather's funeral, Jenni and Joshua spent the day with Grandpa John while Grandma Linda was working at her office.
Jenni woke up with a fever so Grandpa took her and Joshua to Walgreens. There they picked up Jenni's medicine, some Gatorade, and a little toy camera for Joshua that shot water out when he snapped a picture.
Then they drove back to Grandpa and Grandma's house.
Then, Jenni sat on the sofa watching Frozen and ate popcorn with Grandpa and Joshua. :)
Then Grandpa John prepared a picnic lunch in the kitchen for them to take to the park to eat.
 Jenni's playground illustration, complete with a merry-go-round.
The kids had been asking for a picnic at the park for a while so it was extra special that Grandpa John took them on their first picnic this spring.
Then they stopped at Starbucks so Grandpa could get some coffee. Any person taking care of little people needs some caffeine. :)
Then Grandpa John took the kids to Toys 'R' Us!! Joshua picked out a Jake and the Never Land Pirates game. Jenni chose a flying fairy.
Then they stopped for an ice cream treat! Grandpa even let them get their ice cream in a cone. :)
Jenni chose a cappuccino chocolate flavor.
Joshua chose a blue birthday cake flavor.

Then they headed back home! :)
Jenni had the idea to illustrate the day she and Joshua spent with Grandpa John. Oh, the fun they had!!

Final Day of Co-op

Joshua volunteered to be the first act in the talent show. He decided to have a puppet show with his puppy puppet. It was precious and adorable.
These two littles were recognized for their memory work!
