We baked dozens of one of our favorite chocolate cookies - kind of like a chocolatey brownie cookie with walnuts. We then packaged and delivered the cookies to our neighbors while inviting them to our Christmas service at church. The littles took turns ringing or knocking on the door while the other delivered the cookies and gave them the invitation. Nothing like some good teamwork. :)

Random Act of Kindness #10
We selected a pretty poinsettia to give to a neighbor to make their Christmas a little merrier!
We also gave them an invitation to our Christmas service at church. Jenni was most excited about the invite.
We bought the poinsettia knowing we wanted to give it to a neighbor on our street, but we hadn't decided who. The evening we gifted the plant, Jenni came downstairs quite sure of who we should give it to. Very sweet.
And on a different note, when Eric is out of town he tells Joshua to "take care of the girls" so on the walk to our neighbors, Joshua brought his golf club. No joke. :)

Random Act of Kindness #9
We went to the store to purchase gifts for the toy drive at our church. Jenni put herself in charge of buying gifts for little girls and she thought so carefully about finding just the right items - small baby dolls. I helped Joshua select some toys for little boys. We went with a basketball, some cars and playdough. The littles were very excited about bringing the gifts to church to donate.

Random Act of Kindness #8
This time we made two gift baskets filled with cake mix, frosting, Christmas cupcake liners, a bag of holiday candy and stickers for their little ones to enjoy.
Jenni carried the basket and Joshua carried the bag of candy. :)
We began "jingling" in our neighborhood and then a couple days later we were "jingled." So the littles and I got to have fun picking two new neighbors and finding goodies for them. This time we invited Joshua along on our adventure delivering the gift baskets, ringing the door and running. Oh, did Joshua love the thrill of running from a house after ringing the door bell. He was almost out of breath from laughing so hard. So very sweet.

Random Act of Kindness #7
We went through our home looking for things that we no longer need but some one else might enjoy or find useful. Jenni in particular loves finding things for others. We boxed up our items and donated them to a nearby Goodwill.

Random Act of Kindness #6
We stocked up on canned foods (canned fruits, vegetables, chicken, tuna, soup and noodles) on several grocery trips to save for our trip to our county's food bank. Jenni and Joshua had fun picking out different canned goods that they thought others might enjoy eating and we discussed helping others who are in need. Jenni wanted to make sure we got plenty of canned fruits and vegetables to help people be healthy and soup because it can help someone be warm. Joshua enjoyed learning about the food bank and carrying bags to donate.

Random Act of Kindness #5
We assembled more bags of candy for fire fighters at a different station. This time our very own little fire fighter (Joshua) got to join us! The firemen were very sweet to the littles and they got to "drive" the firetruck. :)

Random Act of Kindness #4
Jenni and I assembled candy bags for firefighters. She sorted and put the candy into the bags and I tied the bags up with a little note and ribbon. We had a fun time delivering the treats to fire fighters at the station. They were very sweet to Jenni and she enjoyed the hat and sticker they gave her.

Random Act of Kindness #3
J and I noticed trash flying around at the neighborhood playground and decided we would make that our next good thing to do. With all the new-home construction, vehicles, and wind there has been some trash flying around so we tried to pick what we could up.

Random Act of Kindness #1
This month we are finding ways to show kindness and love to others. For our first act of kindness we went through the drive-through at Chick-Fil-A and paid for the meal for the car behind us. Spreading holiday cheer one chicken sandwich at a time! :)
