Get Ready for THE CODE

This week J studied the letter r, the sound /r/, and continued working on writing r. We also reviewed previously studied letters and sounds. This week we finished our Get Ready for THE CODE workbook and will be starting Get Set for THE CODE workbook next week.

Reading
 Reading is coming along nicely.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt (Before Five in a Row)

This week we rowed We're Going on a Bear Hunt. Jenni LOVED this story and had memorized it by the second day! We read the story each day, did the supplemental activities in the B4FIAR manual, and worked on the lapbook.

Bible Verse & Story Sequencing
J put the cards in order as she retold the story.

Bears, Over, Under & Through, and Patterns

J learned that different types of bears live in different parts of the world.

J coloring the bears in a pattern.

On a hunt...

Me: "Jenni, if you could go on a hunt, what would you like to hunt for?"
Jenni: "Not bears! No way! I'm too scared of them!"
Me: "What would you like to hunt for?"
Jenni: "Sweet little butterflies. But I wouldn't hunt them like catch them and kill them. Just hunt them to catch and look how pretty they are and then let them go." :)

The rest of our school time consisted of our Alphabet Fun unit learning about the letter Oo!
