Week 7 of Pre-K

Bible Verse of the Week: ..."This is my Son, whom I love..." (Matthew 3:17)

Singapore Math
My favorite Jenni "thinking" face :)
 Joshie and his trucks :)
Jenni likes to focus during her school time. Joshua doesn't like to be left out of school time.
He likes to be involved too :)

These are the leaves I sewed with felt. They have come in so handy for number games (putting the numbers in order 1-10, 10-1, finding the missing number, etc. Jenni loves them so they are well worth the time spent sewing!

This week in math we focused on numbers 0-10. J practiced counting and writing the numbers, graphing numbers, and filling in the missing numbers on the number line.

Get Set for THE CODE

This week Jenni studied the letter Pp, the sound /p/, and continued practicing writing the letter Pp. She also reviewed previous letters and sounds.

Reading
We are using this book and this book for reading instruction.

Katy No-Pocket (Before Five in a Row)
This week we rowed Katy No-Pocket. We read the story each day, did the supplemental activities in the B4FIAR manual, and worked on the lapbook.

Jenni learned about specific animal families.
We reviewed that kangaroos are marsupials, eat plants and live in Australia. We also went over other Kk words (kangaroo, kettle, key, kick, king, kiss, kite, kittens).
Going along with the story, Jenni learned additional animals that lived in trees.

Spanish & Sign Language
We spent a good amount of time this week working on basic Spanish words (family members, numbers, colors, animals, etc.). Jenni loves it, Joshua thinks it's silly, and I am continually surprised by how quickly she picks up and retains new words!

We continued learning a few new signs this week. Jenni loves to sign and loves signing back and forth with Joshua. Joshua can learn about one new sign a day.
