Where's the Turkey?
We placed numbers 1-20 on the table and hid the turkey underneath one of the numbers. Jenni guessed which number the turkey was underneath. Once she guessed the correct number, she counted up to that number.

Reading
We are using The Ordinary Parent's Guide to Teaching Reading for phonics instruction and Jenni is reading Bob Books: Set 1 for Beginning Readers.

At the start of each week, Jenni picks out a selection of read-aloud books from the library for me to read to her. On the suggestion of The Well-Trained Mind (by Susan Wise Bauer and Jessie Wise), we are using The Read-Aloud Handbook (by Jim Trelease) as a guide for our additional read aloud books.

This week we read:
Do You Want to Be My Friend? by Eric Carle
If You Give a Mouse a Muffin by Laura Numeroff
Mrs. McNosh Hangs Up Her Wash by Sarah Weeks
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
