Week 6 of Kindergarten

Bible Verse: "Honor your father and mother so that it may go well with you" (Ephesians 6:2-3).

Saxon Math 1

Jenni completed Lessons 26-30. We reviewed and practiced writing numbers, ordinal position, and counted by 1s, 5s and 10s to 100. This week Jenni also practiced writing number sentences and reviewed addition facts - doubles to 10. She also practiced using the balance to determine which side was heavier or lighter. Each morning in the Math Meeting Book (not pictured) Jenni reads the date, writes the full date (month, date, and year), graphs the weather (sunny, cloudy, rainy, snowy), counts using the hundred number chart, and reviews right and left.

All About Reading, Level 1
Jenni completed Lessons 22 and 23. She blended sounds with our letter tiles, completed the activity sheets and games, practiced her new reading words and read from the fluency practice sheets. This week we focused on words with blended sounds and Jenni began reading new stories from our AAR Level 1, Volume 2 book.

Explode the Code, Book 2

Jenni finished Lesson 5 and began Lesson 6.
Lesson 6: Initial consonant blends st, sw, tw

Big Idea 2, Week 1:Where do animals sleep?
Jenni learned that a habitat is the place where animals live, eat, and sleep. She learned about three of the most common habitats: forests, deserts, and oceans.
