We bought a Buzz-shaped cake at a party store and baked a super yummy chocolate cake the night before Joshua's party. After the cake was baked and cooled, I got to work icing it once everyone was asleep. What a task! It was super fun and totally worth the time it spent to ice it! Little man loved it! He loved it so much that he actually just wanted to look at the cake for several days (seriously) before we cut into it. Love.
Eric took Joshua out the morning of his party so Jenni and I could decorate the dining room for his surprise party. We had a special lunch planned that went along with the characters from Toy Story.
The day of his party he began to get sick...and then sicker...and then
super sick. So his birthday lunch, present opening, and cake eating happened on different days since he didn't feel well and was too tired to
do much. Needless to say, little man enjoyed turning three, blowing out
his candles and eating his cake.
